Learning to love yourself.

Hey guys!

So there has been a lot of talk on social media lately about body image and being comfortable with yourself. This topic is one that we find so important here at Down to Earth, especially for women in today's society. I'm sure it's something we've all heard dozens of times.... "Be comfortable in your own skin", "Love yourself for who you are"... and a lot of times it sounds much easier than it actually is, doesn't it? But really, when you think about it, what could be more necessary for living a happy life, than loving the only person you are constantly surrounded by?

Society today, whether we want to admit it or not, is constantly being pulled in opposing directions. One side floods the media with images of how our bodies should look, and the other side poisons our minds with countless commercials for foods that do nothing but poorly impact your ability to maintain such standards. Think of how many times you've been watching, say, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show... it breaks for commercial and the first thing advertised is a Big Mac.... The irony!!! It is no wonder that so many of us struggle with body image at some point.

It's time for us to realize that we are enough. We need to start loving ourselves for who we are, not who everyone else wants us to be. Being healthy isn't about looking skinny, or making ''pretty" duck-faces on the internet to see how many "likes" you get. It's about nourishing yourself inside and out. It's about feeling your best, all the time. Take the vacation, buy the shoes, stop in the middle of a busy world, and take a moment for yourself. Because you are enough. You are the one who matters, the only one who is accountable for your actions. You deserve to feel better, think clearer, live happier. Being healthy isn't a fad, a diet, or a resolution. It's a lifestyle. A lifestyle you deserve to live. Trust us, you won't regret it...

With love,

Jess & Brie
